A foreigner who intends to have education in the Republic of Lithuania shall be issued a Temporary Residence Permit (TRP) for one academic year. International Studies Center provides with all the necessary documents for the TRP when the candidate has been enrolled in Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU).
The student has to apply to the nearest Embassy/Consulate of the Republic of Lithuania for TRP. The person is provided with short-term visa by the above-mentioned institution as soon as the Migration Department in Lithuania confirms his application for TRP (the revision of the documents may take more than 2 months). The TRP can be obtained only upon arrival in the host country within 7 days.

Short-term D type visa - Free
Primary TRP - 90 EUR
Extension of TRP (e.g. for the next academic year) - 30 EUR
The TRP allows up to one years stay in Lithuania , and have to be renewed before 2 month students visa expires. The procedure of the temporary residence permit includes a compulsory medical health insurance.
